China’s Jilin province expanded its monetary subsidy to cultural enterprises this year, tripling it to RMB30m (€3.2m). It has also established a RMB20m (€2.1m) fund for encouraging cultural enterprises to invest and develop strategic and pioneering projects, through bank loans and issuing corporate bonds.
The next step for Jilin province is to aggressively develop its ten key industries, which include radio and television, press and publication, acting and entertainment, digital transmission, Internet service, cultural expositions, and art.
The province is committed to pushing the production value of its cultural industry above six percent of GDP during the 12th five-year plan period, and sees the sector becoming the new core of the province’s economy.
