Like JPM, Aristocrat Technologies used FER-Interazar to demonstrate that it’s serious about the Spanish arcade market, occupying its own stand at the Madrid event for the first time. Its presence in 2008 and 2009 was on shared stands.
Said Christian Colus, Aristocrat’s head of sales for southern Europe: “Having established a dedicated Spanish subsidiary in Barcelona in 2008, we have succeeded in launching the Aristocrat brand into an entirely new market with casino-style Type B video games Big Red and Queen of the Nile now performing across five key jurisdictions, through strong partnerships with operator/distributors Comdibal 2000, Egasa and Grupo Vid.
“The decision to exhibit in Madrid as a unique entity signals that Aristocrat intends to achieve its aim of becoming a major player in the Type B gaming machine sector,” added Colus.
Novomatic, too, focused on the arcade market at FER-Interazar with new products including Novo-Line Salon, a multi-game unit with nine new bonus games that it said had already gained “excellent feedback” from Spanish operators at June’s ANESAR event in Madrid. It also showed Bingo King from subsidiary Astra Games, and American Poker II.
