Clarion Events, organiser of January's giant ICE show in London, appears confident that it can secure the big-name exhibitors despite another gaming trade fair taking place in the same city on the same dates.
The Clarion event at Earls Court – reverting to its old name after a period as IGE – avoided a blow when Novomatic confirmed it would be exhibiting despite rumours to the contrary. Other recent signings include Abbiati, Gamesman, R. Franco and TCSJohnHuxley.
Clarion says that ICE space is already 95 percent booked, with more than 400 exhibitors coming from 40 countries. To help visitors plan their time it has launched a Website with an interactive floor plan, at icetotallygaming.com.
The event, which covers the betting, bingo, casino, lottery, online, street and remote gaming sectors, still officially incorporates the ATEI (Amusement Trades Exhibition International) show. But running at the same time, from 25 to 27 January, is trade body BACTA's second European Amusement & Gaming Expo (EAG) at London's Excel centre.
In its debut this year, EAG had 127 exhibitors from 22 countries. It is promising a similar number next year, although as we went to press its Website only named around 50.
ICE claims around 19,000 visitors for its 2010 event, against EAG's 5000.
