Austria’s Funworld has upgraded its Photo Play touchscreen unit with 13 new games.
Photo Play 2011 includes card, skill and fun games, with a facility to compete against other players internationally. Altogether, there are now 19 multiplayer games on the system, and the Photo Play Masters tournament series runs more than 3000 contests annually.
The firm was recently acquired by Quanmax after declaring insolvency, but appears set to continue with its pre-takeover product plans.
Quanmax, which operates a range of technology businesses, is not active in the leisure sector other than through Funworld, so there is no overlap in product lines to be addressed; the most likely impacts of the acquisition on Funworld itself will be in improved support, logistics, and research-and-development capability.
