The firm has already worked with gaming specialists including Betfair, Camelot, Ladbrokes and William Hill. Its Deal or No Deal show, for example, has been licensed for an Internet bingo site, an online jackpot game, and a popular AWP quiz machine.

And, in a further indication of the potential for rolling out games based on TV concepts, sister company Endemol Worldwide Brands has teamed up with developer Visiware to create digital versions of its Money Drop game-show format that can be supplied ready-made to broadcasters who buy the show.

Broadcasters will be able to offer Money Drop games – played in real time alongside the TV programme, or in a standalone version when it’s not on the air – on their own Websites, on social-networking services, and later on mobile platforms such as the Apple iPhone and iPad.

“This is the first time a global format has been sold internationally as a complete multiplatform ecosystem. It creates a simple and cost-effective solution to delivering The Money Drop as a unique multiplatform experience in any territory. We believe this adds significant value to the format and are extremely pleased to see leading broadcasters like [Germany’s] ZDF already reaping the benefits,” said Olivier Gers, CEO of Endemol Worldwide Brands.

The show made its UK debut this year as The Million Pound Drop Live, with 3m games played online during a six-night TV run.
