Administrator Baker Tilly has sold the 99 properties of UK adult gaming centre operator Agora Gaming Group. The new owners are two Minmar (929) Ltd and recently-formed Baleday Ltd, believed to be investment vehicles set up to make the acquisition.
Agora was parent of companies including Leisure World UK – previously known as Galaxy Gaming – and Caesar’s World, with an estate including major gaming centres in Lewisham and Aldershot. It went into administration a year ago.
Administrator and Baker Tilly partner David Hudson said: “A sale has been secured for the entire trading portfolio, which will safeguard 440 jobs and enable the entire estate to continue to trade under new ownership.”
Colin White, a partner in property agency Edward Symmons, which worked with Baker Tilly on selling Agora, said: “We were pleased to secure a sale within the year in what has been a depressed market. This is a clear sign of the strong market interest for such substantial leisure investment opportunities; 180 parties registered interest in the portfolio and some 35 offers were made for purchase.”
