Ever since the global financial turmoil hit two years ago, the Asian gaming-technology industry has been stricken by a dwindled market. But it’s not all bad news.
Zheng-yi Yang, general manager of embedded systems maker Adlink Technology, has confirmed that Adlink is ready to enter the gaming sector and make its first deployments in this new field. The company has gained orders from a large American client and sent product samples for client confirmation.
When orders are placed, this client is expected to become one of the top ten customers of Adlink, whose overall annual revenue could increase by at least 20 percent.
Meanwhile, iBase Technology, which has already engaged with the sector, is also generating cheerful results from gaming orders. The revision of gaming machine certification criteria by the Italian government kicked off a trend to replace equipment, with nearly 100,000 machines in the Italian market affected.
iBase has received an order for 10,000 units, which would make a contribution of NT$256m ($8.8m) to its revenue.
