Music supplier JayBox will soon be providing its customers with access to online diagnostics, enabling them to monitor their digital jukeboxes remotely.
“We are very close to completing our online back-office interface for operators, which will allow our customers to see their JayBox machines from their own office,” said Richard Elsy, marketing director.
“By logging on through this application operators will be able to see how their machines are performing and what settings are current and, if they wish to change anything they can simply call or email us and this will be done,” he added.
“A great feature of this will be the ability to spot any tracks being played which may be causing customers to throw furniture around the pub – football anthems in particular venues, for example. Again, a call or email to us will see the offending track removed without the need for a service call.”
When the online diagnostics system has been thoroughly tested, JayBox then plans to enable operators to change jukebox settings remotely themselves, without involving the supplier.
JayBox is also encouraging consumers to interact more closely with the machines, using an interface developed in collaboration with Bob Rudd Leisure. “People are being encouraged to log on and create their personal playlists. They can also request new tracks which may not be on the existing 95,000-track repertoire and they will get a reply to their request next time they log on, telling them that the request is in the next update or that they have misspelled the request and that the track is already there,” said Elsy.
And it is trialling a new audio control board which will mean external amplifiers are no longer needed.
