Flintshire in north Wales is set to get a new eight-lane bowling alley thanks to a partnership between the local council and Alliance Leisure.
A £1.8m investment will see the Flint Pavilion Leisure Centre gain an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley and a four-rink indoor bowls facility as well as other enhancements including a soft play area for children.
Currently, the nearest ten-pin venue is at Chester, while for bowls local residents must travel to Prestatyn. Both are about 15 miles from Flint.
To fund the new development, the council will pay monthly rental fees to Alliance Leisure for 15 years.
