Vendors woo Spanish operators
Published:  13 May, 2011

Comparatively quiet it may have been, but this spring’s FER-Interazar event in Madrid still saw vendors continuing to woo the huge Spanish market with new games and accessories.

Aristocrat Technologies, for example, used the expo to launch two new Type B games for the Spanish arcade-salon sector.

The new titles, Mystic Mermaid and Wicked Winnings, are being offered alongside current games such as Big Red, Queen of the Nile and Dolphin Treasure and promoted to operators with the slogan “performance, performance, performance”.

William Wilsnagh, Aristocrat’s managing director for Europe and Africa, said: “Having introduced a new gaming concept to what is the most consummate player base among Spain’s multifaceted gaming sector, Aristocrat continues to optimise its offering, building on a compelling entertainment formula that is proving to attract more players.

“Working closely with leading regional operator/distributors including Comdibal2000, Egasa and Grupo Vid, we now look forward to greater diffusion of our games in the marketplace and we will continue to invest in developing even more exciting concepts for what has shown itself to be a highly responsive and adaptive gaming populace,” said Wilsnagh.

He added that the firm’s new multiplayer configuration, developed in response to customer requests, is now being rolled out in the Spanish region of Andalusia.

Suzo Happ, meanwhile, introduced its Hopper Flow coin hopper to the Spanish market at FER-Interazar, promising high payout speed and flexibility from three bowl sizes.

The firm also reported strong interest in its toppers, such as the Reel Topper and the Round Video Topper, with Juan Gomez, director at Suzo Happ Spain, observing: “The LED strips are finding new applications, not only to attract players to the gaming machines. We are seeing them more and more placed around the gaming halls as a way of decorating them.”

And Merkur Gaming, exhibiting with its partner Sente, launched a quartet of new hybrid machines: Spacemen Mixed, Magic Sphinx Mixed, Ultimus Cash Mixed and Mixed Games II.

Amatic Industries reported continued interest in its Roulette Grand Jeu (pictured), of which 700 units are already in operation in Spain.
