All thoughts are now on Blackpool for the World Eight-Ball Pool Championships, due to be played 25 June-5 July.
The European nations will be joined by a strong squad from Australia, which is contesting most of the titles available. South Africa is also sending a large squad of top-class players, with other Africans coming from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
We may also see the introduction of China to the proceedings; the country has a large eight-ball association and is seeking to join the World Eight-Ball Pool Federation for the first time.
In their 19th year, these championships will carry a substantial prize fund and are expected to have the largest attendance ever achieved for the competition. The event will again feature tournament equipment from Supreme Tables, Strachan 6811 fabric and Aramith balls.
