Sixteen professionals from the Korean anime industry, brought together by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, visited Panyu district in Guangzhou, China on 3 March to observe and make an on-the-spot investigation of the development of the anime industry within this region.
The 16 Korean representatives came from different Korea-based enterprises including Yiosys, Dreamhans, Crenova, Omicron and EDU Holdings. Most of them specialise in providing electronic amusement machines, electronic display devices, and vocational education for the anime industry. Among these companies, Dreamhans’ showpieces including 3D and 4D images left all the Chinese representatives in the meeting with a striking impression.
These professionals also paid a visit to the seventh edition of CIAE Guangzhou Expo 2011. CCPITPY specially hosted a China and Korea Communion Meeting at noon on 4 March, attracting a substantial number of industry leaders including Zhi-Bang Su, a member of Panyu District People’s Congress; Zhi-Wei Li, chairman of CCPITPY; Ben-Li Su, honorary chairman of GAGA (Guangzhou Panyu Animation & Game Association); Meng-Gang Hao, chairman of GAGA; Zhen-Chang Deng, deputy chairman of GAGA; Ke-Ming Zhu, general secretary of GAGA; Tie-Cheng He, a consultant to GAGA; Ying-Hong Chen, president of Startoon Animation Industrial; Zhen-Jun Zhang, president of Hua Chuang Animation Industrial; Jiang-Lin Xu, president of Sealy Technology; and Ju-Ceng Zheng, president of Belrare Electronic Technology.
In the meeting’s welcoming speech, Zhi-Wei Li observed that “the co-operation of the anime industry between China and Korea has lasted for several years. The government of Panyu district continuously pays close attention to the development of the anime industry in Korea and hopes that China and Korea can have a closer connection between each other in the future via further bilateral communication and co-operation.”
Kim Tae-Young, in charge of the anime department of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, confirmed the Panyu district’s developmental potential and said that the Korean government also gave great support to its anime industry. He explained that the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation is a firm providing essential support for manufacturing companies trying to transform themselves into R&D-oriented enterprises.
