Demand for tables
Published:  26 July, 2011

Heywood Pool, manufacturer of the market-leading Supreme range of tables, continues to find the right formula in English pool. The firm is battling to keep production levels up to meet growing demand in a market where others are currently struggling to survive, thanks to a reputation built on world-class manufacturing and the highest-quality components, including Strachan 6811 cloth and Aramith balls.

In July, the Heywood-made Supreme Prince in eight-foot format will again be used at the English Pool Association/World Eight-Ball Federation world championships in Blackpool.

“We have seen a very slight decrease in orders taken in the UK, which reflects the difficult times that the pubs are experiencing. But this has more than been compensated for by increased levels of export trade. We have seen increased demand from Western Europe and other areas such as North Africa. We are now running flat out and are trying to increase production to meet the surge in demand,” said Laura Martin, a sales executive at Supreme.

And David Hallworth, the company’s owner, added: “It is a formula that works – we invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to manufacture tables of the highest specification at very competitive prices. You know that if you buy a Supreme table it will be built to the same specifications as the tables used at the world championships but at a price that suits the operator and the site.”

The company is currently working on several product enhancements that will take the tables to a new level, along with adding new finishes and products to the range. Also soon to come will be a brand-new Website to showcase these products.
