The somewhat challenging state of the UK pub market has seen a new type of business emerge geared up to supply the growing home market. The soaring price of a night in your local pub with a group of friends has pushed many punters into seeking out an alternative way of getting their fix of pool.
Some of the businesses supplying the emerging home market started out as small Internet-based companies, many with questionable levels of service or after-sales support. But others, such as Bristol-based Home Leisure Direct, do offer a quality, customer-focused model.
Said managing director Andy Beresford: “We have seen a number of cases where product, service and backup have been appalling. We decided to offer the customer a high-quality experience throughout every step of selecting and buying a home table. We distribute only the best brands and have trained people on hand at the end of a phone if further guidance is needed.”
Home Leisure has recently moved into a new showroom and offices on the outskirts of Bristol so that customers can come in and see the items that they are buying for their homes.
“We felt it was the right thing to do,” said Beresford. “If you are spending good money on a quality item of furniture, people usually want to inspect the piece to assess the build and components. Then, when you have made your selection, we offer a free delivery service on every item.”
