The management advantages of linking gaming machines to a central server were vividly illustrated by Inspired Gaming Group this summer when the government gave the go-ahead for increased stakes on Category B3 games.
With the devices now permitted to offer maximum stakes of £2 rather than the previous £1, Inspired used its Open SBG Core system to download updated software to 14,000 machines across the UK – a project that would have been vast in scale if each machine needed a manual upgrade.
The new stake is now available on more than 20 games from Inspired and seven other developers. Customers include Betfred, Paddy Power and William Hill.
