Early March sees the Chinese city of Guangzhou host two gaming and amusement trade fairs.
At the Panyu Startoon E-Game Expo (SEM), running 5-7 March, organisers promise a range of “China-manufactured innovations and products including amusement machines, amusement games, theme park facilities, and fitness equipment”.
Exhibitors and visitors will include manufacturers, distributors and operators.
At the China Guangzhou International Game & Amusement Exhibition (CIAE) on 9-11 March, meanwhile, the 100,000-square-meter floor is expected to host repeat visits from nearly oll of the 260 Asian exhibitors who attended 2011’s edition of the event, including Sega, Namco, Taito, Zone Laser Group, Coin Tech, IGS, Astro, Universal Space, Wahlap, Sealy, Mecpower, Macrown, Game Plus, Golden Horse, Golden Dragon, G-Look, and Zhen Hui.
The province of Guangdong, of which Guangzhou is the capital, is a major location for production and distribution of gaming machines. Ninety percent of the nation’s gaming devices, and 60 percent of its amusement machines, are made in the city of Zhongshan, while the Panyu district of Guangzhou itself is home to more than 2000 suppliers of gaming products.
