Sound Leisure and Soundnet are anticipating a fantastic EAG show this month, with a range of products and services designed to suit every budget and location.
The groundbreaking VenueHub digital jukebox was launched at last year’s EAG and the influence of its success is evident in the companies’ thinking for pay-per-play music this year.
Said Sound Leisure managing director Chris Black: “VenueHub has performed incredibly over the festive season, which reflects our commitment to the platform and its development.
The response to VHub throughout the year has been fantastic, so the team are really excited about the new features and applications being unveiled at the show.”
Among the new developments will be the VHub AV platform, featuring more than 7000 top music videos and 7m audio tracks when connected to Soundnet’s Unlimited server. In addition, this machine is the first to benefit from composite and HDMI outputs, aligning it with current display technologies.
Just like the VHub P32 audio jukebox launched in autumn 2011, the P32 AV features a 32-inch portrait screen and gesture controls, and provides supports for SL’s optional contactless payment solution.
Black added: “We’re confident this year’s show will again prove Sound Leisure remain the key innovators in the jukebox sector. From entry level to the top end, we continue to cover all the bases with market-leading quality, software, reliability and value.”
For the entry-level market, Sound Leisure has extended its production of the popular Starburst, at just £1395. The company will also be launching a new midrange machine called Soundwave, featuring a 19-inch touchscreen. Both products will be available with an improved music package from Soundnet offering 20,000 tracks rather than 10,000.
A new premier product, The Pulse, will also be launched to replace Sound Leisure’s top-selling jukebox. Featuring a sleek solid metal cabinet and modern design, the product is based on an updated version of the Milestones in Music platform, also on view for the first time at this year’s EAG.
Milestones set the benchmark for digital jukeboxes in the UK after its launch in 2007, and Sound Leisure is keen to cascade some of the advancements achieved through the VHub development to this highly popular platform. The new software release, which will also be available free of charge to all existing Milestones customers, features an improved customer interface, increased functionality and the skeleton required to support the firm’s contactless payment solution.
A further key area of development for Sound Leisure and Soundnet
throughout 2011 has been OpWeb, the online jukebox-management system. Demonstrations of the OpWeb system will be provided by SoundNet throughout the show.
The stand will also feature a selection of stunning CD nostalgia jukeboxes from Sound Leisure’s Classic Jukebox division. The newly launched 1950s-styled Rocket 88 retro jukebox will be on display alongside a beautiful 1015 and a hybrid digital Nostalgia model.
Finally, the firm will have two novelty machines for kids, Ol’ McDonald and Pillar Box, that have proved themselves in a wide variety of locations and are evergreen favourites with young players.
