A jump in takings for Ladbrokes’ fixed odds betting terminals (FOBTs) also helped drive first-quarter revenue up for supplier The Global Draw.
Said the firm: “Following our successful rollout of terminals to Ladbrokes’ entire estate last year, Ladbrokes’ first-quarter 2012 cash box improved nearly 17 percent year-over-year, demonstrating our ability to help our gaming customers drive growth. The increased profitability of our gaming service revenue in the first quarter reflects the inherent operating leverage in this business.”
The Scientific Games subsidiary also saw gross win and gross win per machine per day across all the machines it supplies increase roughly 62 percent and six percent respectively. It is paid by operators based on the level of income its games generate.
At the parent company, first-quarter revenue was up 19 percent, boosted by strong U.S. lottery sales.
