Merit Entertainment is now shipping its 2007 software for both ION and Force in the USA, as well as the new 17” eVo and Edge game systems.
Excitement is building in anticipation of the international launch at ATEI 2007 because in the USA, where testing has been taking place since August, operators have reported a strong uplift in earnings.
Merit placed quality and operator input as the highest priorities in the 2007 release while following a new customer promise to: focus on customer needs, offer the best products, deliver high quality, and improve customers’ return on investment. The new software includes new hit games. Texas Hold ‘Em 3, Chug Monkey, Office Bash, Coco Loco, Draggle Drop, Luxor (licensed from Mumbo Jumbo) and UNO (licensed from Mattel) all held top ranking positions during the test period.
The ION release adds additional graphics and animation and further delivers with joystick hits Pack Rabbit and Tuxedo Run. Also unique to ION is the new Penthouse Video Strip Poker, available in selected countries.
Each copy of the new ION software is pre-installed on a new Quick-Click hard drive, ensuring installation within one minute, and each of these new hard drives comes with a 30-month warranty.
Both Force and ION 2007 represent a new approach to software development within Merit, with unprecedented levels of player and operator involvement. Earnings and play ranking tests during the three-month US beta test indicate that this is the strongest update that Merit has ever released, with six of the new games in the top 10 and an average 27 per cent earnings boost. For the first time since Merit introduced touchscreen gaming to the coin-op world, every single game in the release placed among the top played games.
