Harry Levy Amusements has completed a ground-breaking installation at an entertainment complex in Riga, Latvia. The Go Planet centre – which is situated on the outskirts of the city – does not have any gaming machines but boasts the very latest in amusements.
Harry Levy supplied over 40 of its best redemption machines, including pushers on ticket payout. Gary Newman, sales director, also advised on the layout of the redemption machines and the prize centre.
“Latvia has never had a proper redemption arcade like this before,” said Newman. “The quality of the operation is unparalleled anywhere in the world.” The redemption centre was unveiled in front of about 50 national press at a ceremony last month.
The Go Planet complex is completely devoted to family entertainment and contains several restaurants and bars, an indoor karting track, an indoor children’s fairground with proper rides, a pool and snooker hall, a laser shooting gallery and an amazing 4-D cinema, providing 3-D vision, movement and an extra dimension of ‘touch’ which can include splashing customers with water!
“I couldn’t quite believe the range of product on offer at Go Planet,” said Newman. “The rest of the complex has been open for a year and also includes a video game arcade with all the latest titles. We were really pleased to be able to help out on such an interesting project.
“The press seemed really impressed at the opening of the centre and there were representatives from papers in neighbouring Eastern European countries such as Estonia and Lithuania. It would be really great if something similar could be created in those countries too.”
