Funworld's Global Presentations
Published:  01 February, 2007

During the past two months, the first sales phase of Photo Play’s PRO terminals and the new System 2007 has set in with presentations around the globe. “With PRO Generation and SYSTEM 2007 we were able to introduce an entire terminal generation and new software together for the first time.

As a result clients in the various countries provided lots of positive feedback,” said Marco Huter, Funworld CSO. Shortly after a successful presentation of PRO Generation before international sales partners at the Traunsee, Austrian clients were invited to the Funworld headquarters in Lenzing (both Upper Austria). For three days, the delegates watched presentations of Photo Play, as well as the children’s terminal, called Touch Toy. Around 60 customers attended the event to familiarise themselves with the new hardware and software. Herbert Ehmer, funworld Austria’s general manager, presented an entirely new sales model for the Austrian market. To keep investment costs for operators low, PRO Generation will solely be available on a rental basis. Meanwhile, Funworld Switzerland clients were invited to a presentation at the subsidiary’s headquarters in Bern in mid-October. Funworld’s sales manager, Norbert Langer, presented the new terminals and SYSTEM 2007’s multiple innovations together with the Swiss team. Funworld’s US partner, Bulldog Entertainment, used the AMOA in Las Vegas to introduce Photo Play’s new Sprinter PRO. Touchscreen terminals with the option of playing multiplayer games online have thus far been unavailable in the US. The first customers appeared to be quickly convinced of the advantages of this system. French operators were able to obtain first-hand information on Photo Play’s new hard- and software at the “Tour de France”, which has become a tradition in Bordeaux, Montpellier, Brest, Rennes and Arras. The product introductions, which were held at wholesalers’ and in hotels, were well attended. Fun.net Germany invited German top clients to the Photo Play headquarters in Lenzing for a presentation of the new PRO Generation and SYSTEM 2007 at the beginning of November. Photo Play Racer Pro’s design and its innovative lighting concept with intermittent blinking in demo mode as well as the super-fast Powercube PRO, the new terminals’ distributing centre, had all participants enthusiastic. Southern Europe has also seen an official presentation of Photo Play’s PRO Generation. In Greece, a decision by the European Court of Justice provided additional reason for celebration. The Court decided that Greece has breached EU law with its ban to play electronic games in public or private places. The Greek government is now required to rescind the bill and thus re-legalise Photo Play in pubs and bars. This piece of news much heightened enthusiasm around the PRO Generation launch in Athens. The SPRINTER PRO was attentively weighed up in this traditional ‘bar terminal country’. Even so, design as well as the high-speed Powercube PRO with improved heat distribution left nothing to be desired.

Like its Greek neighbours, clients from Cyprus showed equal enthusiasm. Terminals along with their new software SYSTEM 2007 were shown in an entertaining presentation and ‘Live Video’ and multiplayer ranking lists were considered highlights by the operators. Marco Huter was impressed by the product presentations’ professionalism in the country with the largest Photo Play terminal density. “Our partner makes special use of the many online linkage options, thus client relation-building and player motivation strongly stand in the foreground”, he said.

All in all the presentations as well as the new terminals’ launch at the trade fairs in Spain and Poland show that the PRO Generation’s innovate overall concept and the new software 2007 are a sweeping success. Hardware capacity paired with new games and sophisticated options to motivate players convince operators throughout Europe. First games statistics from linked countries show that not only clients believe in the new products but that players too are sold on the new PRO Generation and SYSTEM 2007.
