From February 20th to 22nd Belgrade will host the Premier Gaming Expo Belgrade, the first event of this type in the South-East European region. Serbia is one of the countries which has achieved economic reforms in recent years as noted by international economists. Serbia has improved its economic development, not only by increasing production but also by the stability of its currency, and an increase in tourism.
This has led to the establishment of many new trade shows which help to improve the cooperation and economic exchange with other countries, especially in the rest of Europe. Many international companies have been following the development of the Serbian economy with close interest. Strategically, its position as a central country at the Balkan Peninsula, connecting the northern part of the continent to the southern one and the West Europe to the Middle East countries. Gaming Expo Belgrade 2007 is proof of the accelerated economic development of Serbia in recent years. Occupying a space of 3,500 square meters, in the modern and attractive Belgrade Fair Hall, the show will be on two levels, featuring 67 exhibitors from 21 countries. Exhibiting companies will be showing a variety of goods including video, slot and multiplayer machines, casino equipment, software and Internet (on-line) games. Belgrade, as the largest city of the West Balkans and one of the capitals of the Southeast Europe, has been developing lately into a great economic and financial centre. The Financial Times newspaper pronounced it, last year, the City of Future for South-East Central Europe. The organisers of the first Gaming Expo Belgrade, are particularly pleased to announce the participation Casinos Austria International at the fair. The company will shortly open its first casino in Belgrade this year. Casinos Austria was successfully awarded a ten-year licence for casino operation by the city of Belgrade, for which it paid Euros 18m. The show organiser, Congrexpo expects that the event will attractmore than 4000 visitors from Serbia and South-East European countries as well as from the rest of the world. The event opening hours on February 20-21 will be from 10am to 7pm, and on February 22 from 10am to 4pm. Entry to the event is free of charge, with compulsory visitor registration.
