The annual VI awards are the highest professional accolade within the social dynamics of the gaming industry in Spain and with their praise not only do they turn on the spotlight but also provide an incentive for the work of these people who, in very different ways and at different levels, have been able to promote the image of the whole sector.
The event is organized each year by the Interazar Group. Man of the year was José Miguel Escrig, undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance and Employment in the Valencian Autonomous Government, for his work in managing the reform of the Private Gaming regulations. In one year he has transformed the rules governing bingo halls, casinos, amusement machines and arcades. Businessman of the year was José Antonio Martinez, President of CODERE, honoured for the success of his bond issues and the expectations of departing from the stock exchange, seen as factors that will write a new chapter in the financial format of companies within the Sector. The award for professional progress went to Urbano Lozano, Director of FAMAI in the kiddie equipment manufacturing area. This businessman has demonstrated that quality and the love for well-produced work can be a splendid constant maintained over many years. The well-deserved award for young businessman of the year went to David Gonzalez who is the Managing Director of Worte. And finally the award for the best foreign company went to the Gauselmann-Sente Group. These awards will be presented during the Spring XXVI Andalusian Fair which will be held in Málaga, Spain between 28th and 30th March.
