Two of the UK’s best-known lo-tech AWP developers have put their competitive instincts to one side, with London-based Project entering into an agreement for its overflow production to be handled by the Electrocoin manufacturing and assembly facility in South Wales.
The machine production runs completed so far have comprised the sit-down versions of Project’s poker games as well as export models of the company’s successful roulette games.
Tony Boulton, Managing Director of Project, believes that the arrangement with Electrocoin is a product of the shifting domestic landscape for manufacturers.
“While Electrocoin is essentially a competitor, we enjoy a good, respectful relationship. For commercial reasons we have set our manufacturing volume to a fixed level and are happy that there are times when demand exceeds that volume. Electrocoin has been doing a great job and in many ways they were a natural choice,” he said.
