In order to win over the development of gambling industry in Penghu, the mayor of Penghu County - Wang Qian Fa, the President of Penghu’s Legislative Yuan – Liu Chen Zhao Lin, and the legislator – Lin Bing Kun, accompanied the local representatives and the petition group to the Executive Yuan and the Legislative Yuan for the petition of their high intention of developing gambling industry in Penghu.
The Premier – Su Zhen Chang convened the ministers of Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Finance, Council for Economic Planning and Development, Ministry of Transportation and Communications to receive the petition group. The Premier Su Zhen Chang showed that there haven’t any concrete policies being formed; as a result, there is no such policy-converted problem. The Executive Yuan now stands in a central position but will propose an evaluative report after half a year. Su emphasized that since Penghu is the most active county endeavoring after the development of the gambling industry, the government will surely give people of Penghu an answer. Wang Qian Fa claimed that the gambling industry must combine with tourism, and the tourist resources of Penghu make it the most suitable place for the development of the gambling industry. The petition group hopes that the government can open up gambling activities in order to lure overseas businessmen into placing their investments in Penghu.
