Although it seems that there is no more space for any new associations within the gaming sector in Spain, reality always comes as a surprise. The latest to join the lists is ACORDJOC (Catalan Association of Gaming Operators). AcordJoc has been formed with the objective of satisfying the requirements of the small and medium-sized companies within the amusement sector.
According to its founders, the association aspires to occupy a slice of the sector that until now has not been sufficiently well represented. It is made up of 34 small and medium-sized independent companies operating amusement machines and has been formed with the intention of defending the interests of its members before all the various administrations, whether at local, regional, state or European level. Among some of the functions that AcordJoc offers a member are to provide information and support and to try and resolve any subject related to the activities of the sector, taking all the necessary actions in front of the administration, with the aim of improving the situation of the member in all spheres of activity. AcordJoc is an organization formed in 2005 by businessmen from the amusement sector. Its President, Joan Devesa Florensa, told us: “It is clear that the new technologies are all the time carrying more weight in our business and for that reason, the members of Acordjoc, worried about the evolution of the market, want to be present and to participate in the debate when it reaches a regulatory level”
