US prefers historic icons
Published: 12 June, 2007
A National Currency Poll taken in late April has revealed that Americans prefer historic icons for the new $1 coin rather than political leaders. The study, conducted by Coinstar Inc. tested for consumer awareness, interest and thoughts on the new coin. Although 60% of the public knows about the new dollar coin, only 16% are choosing to use them so far.
A quarter of the population plans to avoid it, while almost a third want to save the new coin. The study represented 1,010 Americans ages 18 and older.
