DT and Sound push French Frontiers
Published:  05 July, 2007

DT Productions and Sound Leisure were among the few overseas companies to attend the Forum de L’Automatique in Paris last month. This was the first coin-op expo to be held in France for more than eight years.

The show was organised by the French publication L’Automatique and followed successful lobbying by the industry for a lower “vignette” charge on the siting of amusement machines in French bars and cafes. The show was held at the Espace Charenton from April 17-18 and attracted over 700 visitors and more than 30 exhibitors, including companies from the UK, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Italy. DT productions and Sound Leisure were both represented on the stand of their French partner Alfa Jukebox who were one of the few companies showing a digital jukebox product. The Soundnet French jukebox has been developed specifically for the country with locally sourced music and special French-interest categories, such as a wide range of specially profiled African tracks. “This was the official launch of the new French digital audio jukebox and there was a lot of interest. Operators were impressed by the full French language tracks and interface and trials are set to begin with many operators in the coming months,” said James Luck from Soundnet following the show. “Due to the early interest in these products both DT and Sound Leisure will be spending time and money in promoting these specific French jukes. We are totally committed to making this a must-have product - and will be fully supporting Alfa Jukebox and operators in making France ‘digital’,” confirmed Sound Leisure’s Alan Meats.
