EELEX figures
Published:  01 November, 2006

The organiser of the 15th annual EELEX international gaming and amusement exhibition, held in Moscow on September 27-29, has announced its results.

The three-day trade show featured over 200 suppliers from the gaming, amusement and vending industries. Utilising 17,200 square metres of Crocus Expo’s Pavilion 1, the exhibit attracted 8,869 attendees from 22 countries. Local gaming professionals, who made up 68 per cent of all EELEX 2006 guests, were followed by UK visitors (8 per cent) and Eastern European businessmen. Around 88 per cent of attendees were returning visitors, but this year the exhibition welcomed 1,064 new guests.

“EELEX 2006 was quite a new experience for us, its organisers, because we hosted it in a new venue, with a new team and with new exhibits,” said Alexandra Soroko, EELEX’s director. “It has also become a new experience for our visitors, who came to the show and discovered a more diverse product offering. A decision to extend amusement and supporting product sections was highly efficient for both our traditional exhibitors and new customers, who were attracted by a new exposition and opportunities.

More than a half of the show’s visitors came to see new products, while 28 per cent focused on business meetings and new partnerships and about 43 per cent popped in to learn about technology and industry trends. The Russian gaming and amusement community took the most active part in the trade event: 51 per cent of all visitors represented slot operations and 14 per cent were casino operators, followed by amusement operators (13 per cent) and gaming equipment manufacturers (13 per cent). And again EELEX 2006 attracted top business managers from all segments: 44 per cent of the exhibition attendees were presidents, CEOs and business owners, and 23 per cent were managers.
