ISI has signed an exclusive agreement with Swiss Gaming Corporation (Swiss Gaming) to bring ISI’s sports betting kiosks (the iSports Stand) to casinos and betting parlours in Switzerland.
In addition, Swiss Gaming intends to assist ISI in its expansion into Italy, Eastern Europe and South America. Acting as a stand-alone sports book, the iSports Stand provides the same services as a casino sports book, including placing sports bets, and can be open virtually 24 hours a day. The kiosk is similar to using an ATM at a bank instead of dealing with a teller, offering punters a faster, more convenient method to place sports bets. The slim design and automated features of iSports Stand allows casinos to offer sports betting without remodeling the gaming floor or hiring or reassigning staff. There are more than 60 iSports Stands operating in Nevada and the Dutch Caribbean.“We are excited to collaborate with ISI to bring this innovative and fully automated product to countries where sports betting is legal and continues to gain popularity,” said René Lindsen, chief executive officer of Swiss Gaming. “Sports betting is a growth industry in Europe. Last year in Switzerland alone, players placed about $22bn Swiss francs in the gaming industry. When you consider that volume of activity, there is tremendous value to casino management in being able to take bets practically 24 hours a day through easy-to-use kiosks that casinos can just plug in and begin using rather than tie up additional employees or capital resources.” Swiss Gaming will expand ISI’s presence by working with Swiss governmental agencies to address regulatory issues and licensing requirements.
