WMS Gaming Inc.has acquired Austrian-based Systems in Progress (SiP). The acquisition of SiP follows last year’s acquisition of Orion Gaming, as part of WMS’ ongoing priority to expand its global footprint and broaden its technology and product offerings to international customers.
“Over the past year we have globally launched several new product lines, including mechanical reel gaming machines and linked progressive products, as well as brand new gaming categories – our Sensory Immersion Gaming, Transmissive Reels and Community Gaming platforms,” said Sebastian Salat, vice president and managing director, WMS International. “Now, with the SiP acquisition coupled with the addition of Orion Gaming, WMS is able to offer our international customers a fully integrated solution, including proven online casino systems and jackpot systems.” SiP, founded in August 2003 by industry veterans Helmut Steffenini and Franz Lechner, is focused on developing and selling gaming systems, including linked progressive systems and slot accounting systems geared toward international casino operators. Since its inception, SiP has delivered systems to Asian, European and African Casinos, and has linked more 8,500 slot machines. “SiP is focused on international casino markets that are looking for a full-feature online casino system that is easy to install and maintain, has reduced IT infrastructure requirements and will deliver a lower overall project cost to the casino customer,” said Steffenini, who brings more than 20 years of global casino industry experience, as does Lechner. “I am excited about teaming with WMS as we will benefit from their global sales, distribution and service network.”
