By the end of 2007, elementary and junior high school students in Taiwan will be able to enjoy fun sports facilities such as dance games, foosball games, basketball machines, nine-square grid baseball games, trampolines and simple rock climbing facilities. Currently many elementary and high schools have unoccupied classrooms.
To encourage students to participate in sports, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan has researched and composed a programme for setting up the LOHAS Sports Stops. The Ministry decided to subsidise schools to utilise unused classrooms to set up LOHAS Sports Stops. Those elementary and junior schools that have more than twelve classes and above three hundred students and can provide two to three vacant classrooms are entitled to apply for this programme.
