Published:  01 November, 2007

The second Hot Games Show 2007 was held on Sept 7th and 8th in Hall 2 of the Taipei World Trade Center. The bustling exhibition welcomed over 50 companies and the Philippine Amusement & Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), the biggest gaming amusement company in the Philippines.

At the opening ceremony, visitors and exhibitors were welcomed by Joan Tseng, general manager of Hot Games Magazine and Jacky Chen director general of Taiwan Amusement Machine Association (TAMA). Efraim C. Genuino, the Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), talked about the PAGCOR city project in the Philippines and predicted it would be completed inside of three years. PAGCOR is looking for partners to cooperate in the project – further details of which are on the corporation website. The organizer divided the show into two pavilions: the casino and the leisure pavilions. The casino pavilion was mainly aimed at the export market. Astro Corp. was specially invited to the casino pavilion to showcase a new series of gaming machines, including Golden Empire, Magic Tarot and Robot Kong, designed with GLI, which premiered at the show. In the leisure pavilion Internet Motion Navigator Corp. (IMON) exhibited a series of simulators, called CRUISER, X2, and X360. And a number of robots on the stand attracted operators and visitors alike. Q-LIT Technology Co., Ltd had a light and spacious stand and showed a range of new products which were both attractive and functional, including Roulette, Baccarat and Sic-Bo. Youal-Jifh Enterprise Co., unveiled several new vending machines, combined with Happy Ball and Pinball, to increase the chance to win a variety of prizes. E-Way technology Co., Ltd, integrated a capsule vending machine with bingo and roulette and drew a great deal of attention. Golden Royal Technology Developer Co., Ltd. also attracted buyers by showcasing a new machine, called Mechanical Baccarat Fu-Dar Material Co., Ltd. fixed an LCD fixed on its newly released Pachinko, in order to advertise new products and to declare the prohibitions against play by teenagers. Chan Chin Electronic Co., Ltd, which has been researching and developing components, released a new coin-counter. Laxan Corporation also released new Baccarat and Roulette machines. G-Run Corporation released a new shooting game called Skiller, a high velocity shooting game, which allows players to vent any pent-up frustrations! Air Magic, from Tommy Bear Co., Ltd, is a capsule vending machine with integrated pump. It is very durable and holds the balloon air internally. The Capsule Toy & Bulk Candy Vending Machine, designed by X-Pro Co., Ltd, can vend at least six different kinds of products in one machine, and was popular with European and American buyers. Guan-Shing Co., Ltd, which concentrates on crane machines, released two newly designed crane machines, K118 and Elfish World. Both machines had increased capacity for prizes, improved visual effects, and enhanced difficulty in retrieving the prize. Bolong enterprise Co., Ltd released a new basketball machine with a fresh design to help prevent children from regaining the ball illegally, and a new LED coin counter. Thanks to the support of exhibitors and operators alike, the second Hot Games Show was very successful despite the fact that the Taiwanese government still maintains very strict laws restricting the industry. Because of this, the show remains mainly an exhibition for the export of machines.
