3M Touch Systems displayed its portfolio of world-renowned touch products and technologies at Electronica 2006 last month.
Stand visitors saw demonstrations of high-endurance LCD capacitive touchscreens, capacitive and resistive electronics, a kiosk chassis monitor and PL-resistive touch sensors from 3M applied to demanding applications in markets such as gaming casino, retail lottery, financial ATM and retail self-service.
ClearTek II capacitive delivers at least five times more wear resistance and durability over competitive solutions, and is ideal for harsh environments such as the gaming floor of a casino or amusement arcade, where reliable touch performance is required around the clock.
Key features include accurate touch performance and the highest levels of light transmission in the marketplace. 3M will use a 32” NEC display to show the technology’s superiority in this application area.
Where space is limited, such as lottery terminals, the MicroTouch EX II Controller Series from 3M brings OEMs flexibility and easy integration. The controllers are based on the innovative EX II ASIC, designed to provide higher-resolution touch coordinates, on-chip RAM, and a wider operating temperature range.
The MicroTouch EX II Controller Series supports serial and USB, offers expanded regulatory approvals, improved power modes, and enhanced ESD and EM protection. The controllers will be demonstrated on a MicroTouch CT150 15” LCD touch screen monitor with integrated ClearTek II sensor from 3M.
