Sega Amusements Europe gathered together its key European distributors and customers at its UK headquarters last month to celebrate the release of the much-anticipated Sega Rally 3 (SR3).
While Sega Rally is one of the firm’s most popular and highly regarded franchises, there has not been a new instalment of the game for almost a decade, as the video giant tried to balance production schedules and ensure that the new title lived up to the standards set by the first two games.
The arcade release of SR3 offers gamers a totally different experience to the console version that hit shops last year, with a new selection of tracks – including a remodelled version of the classic desert course from the original Sega Rally in 1995. “We had a very successful launch to the game and took some very good pre-orders for the build which is currently taking place,” said Sega’s Martin Riley. “We’re all very excited about the potential of this product and see it been right up there at the top of the earnings board for some time.”
A full report on the new game will follow in next months Euroslot.
